Garnier Clean+ Shine Control Charcoal Cleanser

Garnier Clean+ Shine Control Gel Cleanser

I picked up this cleanser at my local Target store around April. I got this specific cleanser because it had charcoal in it, and I love my Biore charcoal cleanser, and wanted to compare them together(which will be posted soon).   This product is meant for oily/acne prone skin, and is formulated with charcoal to pull out impurities and dirt. It is also formulated to help with shine and pore size control. It is oil-free . The formula has charcoal powder and menthol.

You use this like a normal cleanser for your skin. wet your skin, work gel into face, and wash away. You can also use with cleansing devices such as a clarisonic, silicone face scrubber, or konjac sponge.

I first tried this cleanser instead of my Biore charcoal cleanser, and I love it just as much as my Biore cleanser but maybe a sight bit more. After washing my face, my face felt clean, and free of any excess oils left over from sleeping or throughout the day. It does clean well after wearing makeup all day/night. It does control excess oils, and shine throughout the time after washing your face. I personally love the product for my skin type.

It has a claim that it makes your skin better and your pores smaller in a week. As for that claim I believe it help your skin look shine free and better after washing. but for the pores and their size, it doesn't work. temporary yes, it helps pore size by cleaning out the dirt and oil from them. For long term results nothing can shrink pore size at all, you just have the pores you have and you have to deal with them. Do not believe any product that says it will fix your pore size forever, it is not a true claim, and is a scam to get you to spend money on it.

This is a favorite of mine, I totally love this product. You get more, then with the Biore product, more for your money. Yass girl! I love the smell of this product. It works well for oil/acne prone skin. It controls shine/oil. It is part of my Holy grail product. And is in my current skin care routine.

This gets an A+ and a 5 out of 5 for me!
A+
5/5

Stay tuned for a comparison on the two cleansers, and more beauty goodness,

Neutrogena Clear Pore Toner Review

Neutrogena Clear Pore Toner Review

I picked this up at my local grocery store(Cub) after running out of my other toners. I picked up the Neutrogena Clear Pore astringent after seeing the price on the toner, which was 4.00$-5.00$, and was the cheapest one there. The toner is an oil-eliminating and acne prone skin toner with salicylic acid to help treat acne and exfoliate the skin. The formula is made with witch hazel, aloe leaf extract, salicylic acid and chamomile extract.

The full size bottle is 8 fl. oz. and retails for 5.24$ depending on sales, offers where you get it. The neutrogena website you can pick it up for 5.24$ plus shipping. (http://www.neutrogena.com/product/clear+pore+oil-eliminating+astringent.do?sortby=ourPicks)

To use you just swipe on your face, with a cotton ball after washing your face, or to refresh your face during the day.

After using this my face felt a bit dry, but it did help exfoliate my skin, and pick up what was left behind after washing my face. My acne was a little bit dried up after swiping this over them. I liked the product. I did notice after a few days my acne was better and after a week my skin was healing from my acne. I love this product now, and I do notice my acne coming back if I don't use this toner as part of a three-step skincare regimen.

I love this product a whole lot, and will repurchase probably for as long as I have acne and oily skin. And ITS CHEAP which works for me because I'm always trying to save some money on everything.

I'll give this an A+ and 5 out of 5. Love it!

This may or may not work for you, but it works for me. I'll keep it. I assume you can buy it at big box stores, amazon, walmart, target, ulta, drugstore, and grocery stores. Google it if you want to know more, or go to the link above.

thanks for reading, stay tuned for more beauty goodness.

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

006
Biore' Charcoal Face Cleanser
I bought this Biore cleanser after hearing good things about it from a few Youtube gurus, and I have tried Japanese charcoal face masks to deeply cleanse and pull out dirt and oil. It also dries out and fixes blemishes. So I bought it. I have tried it a lot lately because my skin is not behaving from stress and being sick.
This cleanser is a gel based cleanser with bits of charcoal and charcoal powder in it. When you apply it it is gel, but after rubbing it into your face it becomes foamy. It does leave your face a bit tingly after using, but nothing major. it also leaves your face very smooth and clean looking. It has a pleasant smell, that isn't to overpowering. You can use this with a clairisonic which doubles the cleansing power of both the sonic cleansing waves, and also the charcoal in the cleanser.
It is dermatologist tested and oil free. It also says great for everyday use.
I have noticed my skin looking clearer and my pores are cleaned out after using this cleanser with my normal skin routine. I have noticed my blackheads are gone, my acne spots are dried out and smaller, and the texture and tone of my skin is cleaner and clearer. I would definitely repurchase this product, and try out more from the biore' charcoal line. I would also recommend to use this with a charcoal face mask for the ultimate results.
You can find the cleanser at drugstores, walmart, target, and at http://www.biore.com/en-US/dont-be-dirty/deep-pore-charcoal-cleanser
You can find charcoal masks at sasa.com, imomoko.com, sephora, and  http://www.amazon.com/Daiso-Japan-Natural-Pack-Charcoal/dp/B00C1F13CQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423669401&sr=8-1&keywords=daiso+charcoal+mask .

The Body Shop: Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash

The Body Shop: Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash

005
I bought this face wash in a kit with the other tea tree line at a t.j.maxx. It came with this face wash, a toner, a moisturizer, and a spot treatment. I had recently suffered from more acne due to stress and hormones, and blackheads and clogged pores due to sweating. I thought I would try tea tree to help gently get rid of my acne and skin problems.
Tea Tree has been known to be an antiseptic and an antimicrobial that helps with skin problems, MRSA, and even scalp issues like dandruff.
After using this my acne spots and other skin problems were dried up, shrunk, and on the way to healing. I use this when my skin needs the tea tree oil to help with skin issues, and I use the whole line including the spot treatment at night. I would really suggest this line if you have tried other acne products and they didn't exactly work well on you. It can be a bit drying, but not as much as benzoyl peroxide or other acne clearing medications.
You can also use this cleanser with a clairisonic for an even deeper clean. It is oil free, and also great to use everyday if needed.
You can purchase this face wash at www.thebodyshop.com, ulta.com, ulta and body shop stores, t.j. maxx, and amazon. It runs about 12.00$ normally for a full size bottle (8.4 fl oz.) but it is 40 percent off (7.20$) right now. check it out!
until next time, Have a great night.

The Body Shop: Tea Tree Skin Clearing toner

004

The Body shop's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

This is the body shop's tea tree toner, I got this product in a set from t.j. maxx for a discounted price during Christmas time. This toner is meant to remove dead skin and oils from skin after washing, and has tea tree to treat blemishes, white heads, black heads, and cystic acne.
Tea tree is known as an antibacterial oil that is great for skin and scalp conditions. Most people use it to help with acne, in a more natural way, after trying all the drying chemicals out there. It can be used for dry, itchy scalp and dandruff.
There is a downside to this toner sadly, the mixture separates and the oils settle on the bottom of the bottle, creating a "crusty" looking bottom of the bottle. Besides that I really like the toner.
The toner has a slightly tingly feeling when you put it on your skin, and I can image this feeling awesome in the summer. It feels like it is cleaning your skin deeply into the pore, and you will be amazed when you look at the toner on the cotton ball/pad and there is a lot of dirt and oil on there.
if you would like to try the toner, I would suggest oily/acne prone people try it out.
you can get it at ulta.com,ulta stores, t.j.maxx stores,amazon.com,thebodyshop.com, and the body shop stores.

Lush: Dark Angels Face and Body Cleanser

Lush: Dark Angels Review

Logo and Fresh Handmade cosmetics

DSCN062806954_b
Lush's Dark Angels is a face and body wash/scrub made fresh with rhassoul mud, powdered charcoal, black sugar, avocado oil, sandalwood oil, and rosewood oil.  The mud cleanses, while the charcoal and black sugar deeply clean and scrub your face. Finally the oils smooth and hydrate your skin for great, matte skin. This is mostly made for troublesome skin, acne prone skin, and combination skin types. It is also said to calm and soothe irritated skin and redness.
To use this you take a pea sized amount and make a paste with water, then apply it to your face, neck, and body to deeply clean and mattify your problem areas. Mine are my face, chest, and back. It sloughs off dead skin and make your face feel awesomely clean and hydrated at the same time. It clears up and also dries out my acne, and cleans soo deep it removes black heads and other skin issues.
The scrub on this thing can be kind of harsh on people who are not used to exfoliating their skin a lot, If you used this a couple times a week and use with a gentle hand while putting on your skin you should not have a problem.  if you think it's too harsh you can try Lush's Herbalism, Aqua Marina, or angels on bare skin.

You can also use this on your acne prone skin on your body, as a scrub for your body, and as a facial treatment. I have used this in those ways many times, and cannot wait to re-purchase one again soon as I have finally hit the bottom of mine. which makes me sad. :((

I absolutely love this stuff, and will re-purchase often. The smell isn't that great, like charcoal, but I will survive.
A smaller pot of this stuff is 13.00$ and a larger one is 33.00$ but it is worth every penny to me.

More lush goodies are coming up soon, stay tuned.

Freeman Beauty:Golden Grain Brightening Face Mask Review

freeman
DSCN0574
This is the Freeman Facial Brightening Mask with Golden Grain. This mask is designed for all skin types leaning toward drier skin and is used for brightening, hydrating, upping moisture and firming.  I got the full size 6 0z. tube for 5.00$ on their direct website. It has vitamin c, banana extract, coconut extract, ginger extract, papaya extract, raspberry extract, and sandalwood extract ( Why? I don't know). This is a normal Leave on for 10-20 mins. then wash off mask.
DSCN0663
A weird part of the mask is it has golden flecks in it, which looks cool when it's on your skin, it makes your skin glow. but goes away when you wash it off. I'm not sure if it's the "golden grain" or if it's just pigment put into the mask, but it's a nice little add on.
After washing off the mask my skin did feel firmer, more hydrated, and glowy, like my skin was lit from within. It did lighten my acne scars and spots slightly, and with weekly use it might help more. I loved how plump and firm my skin felt.
This mask gets a B, for how my skin felt. but I could do without it. it's a great treat for a spa night/day at home.

Boscia: Tsubaki Oil Infused Exfoliating Powder Review

logo

Boscia Tsubaki Oil Infused Exfoliating Powder

191L
Full Size(2.11 OZ)
017
Sample Size
I picked up this sample size in a beauty set I got from Sephora months back. I finally got around to trying the product recently. It is a powder exfoliator you use to exfoliate without the little beads that wreck the environment. It is meant to be used either during cleansing as an add on to exfoliate, or to use after you cleanse to remove dead skin, and polish your skin.
It has ground adzuki beans, rice bran powder, tsubaki oil, jojoba oil/leaf, and willow herb. The grains are soaked/coated in the tsubaki oil and releases when activated with face wash/cleanser or water to get the full benefits of the oil.  The adzuki beans promotes circulation and removes dead skin. The rice bran powder pulls out impurities from pores, helps with absorbing oil, and helps with lines/wrinkles. The tsubaki oil firms, hydrates, has antioxidants, increases collegen, and has omegas 9 and 6 in it. Jojoba oil nourishes the skin. And the willow herb helps with inflammation, redness, and irritation.
After using this my skin was soft as H*ll and smooth as a baby's bottom. My redness and acne spots were less noticeable and pleasantly moisturized and toned. There was no crusty dead skin hanging around my healing acne spots. My skin felt toned, firmer, and moisturized without over stripping or over moisturizing. I love this stuff. I do!
The reason the FDA has removed the little silica(or whatever) beads from face washes and scrubs/body scrubs was the beads were not dissolving and ending up in our lakes, oceans and other body's of water, and was killing marine life, fish, and the environment in general. The should be slowly leaving the scene and other exfoliating ingredients will be used instead of the earth harming ones.
To buy this product you can get it at sephora stores,Sephora, ulta stores,Ulta, online, and at This website!
full size is 36.00$

Boscia: Green Tea Blotting Linens

Image
Here is a review for the Boscia green tea blotting papers. I have combo/oily skin in the spring/summer months and I get shiny from sweating and creating oil on my face, so these are a life saver. I personally could not live without blotting cloths. They absorb shiny grease and oil on your face, and help with acne prone skin throughout the day.
I love the smell of these cloths, and the paper has little bits of green tea leaves made into the cloths.
The package comes with 100 linen cloths, at a price of 10.00$, you can find cheaper ones at the drugstore, but I personally think they don't work as well, and they don't look pretty. You can find them at ulta, sephora, online, amazon, and the boscia website. They also come out with special edition blotting papers( like peppermint smelling ones) and have special packaging to make the cloths look very pretty in your purse or on your makeup vanity.
Here is a picture of the cloths texture, and special packaging below:

I cannot live without these, I suggest anyone with oily skin/acne prone skin try these out if you can afford it. It is also made for any type of skin that gets shiny and oily.
